Seekers Training Group
This group serves as the bridge between the introductory groups and the performance training groups. The focus is on continued refinement of stroke mechanics, improvement of starts and turns and an increase in aerobic, anaerobic and interval training. Dryland training will increase and incorporate body weight exercises. Long-term and short-term goal setting will be introduced as swimmers begin mental training. Swimmers in this group are expected to participate in the LSC championships at the end of each season.
Qualifying Standard: “B” time 200 IM, 100 Free and/or 100 Stroke (2 of 3 required)
Attendance Rate: 60% for the month
Daily Expectations
Workout Yardage: 2,300 - 3,800 yards
Dryland Focus: Core and Quickness
Meet Participation: 2 short course meets and 1 long course meet, Division I (expected)
Body Position: Better than average body control in freestyle, all strokes developing
Catch Position: Developing in Freestyle
Racing Focus: Sprinting and race techniques
Swimming Focus: Endurance, kicking, body position, open turns
Kicking Focus: Strong kick in main stroke, developing in all strokes.
Focus Drills: 1812 Drill, Balance Drill, Sharkfin Drill, stroke drills
Goal Setting: Developing for main race
